A series of interactive whiteboards designed to engage young people and explain to them how Parliament works in the UK.
People are so turned off by politics today, so to see something like this that makes it accessible once again is immensely valuable, particularly for our young people.
Nick Clegg Deputy Prime MinisterThe whiteboards cover three topic areas and are aimed at 7–18-year-olds. Each resource is playable on three levels to support teachers delivering the citizenship curriculum, right up to the complexities of A-level politics. The whiteboards allow you to compare current models of government and Parliament with your own creations. Hold your own general election. Compare different voting systems. Pass a law by sending it straight to the Queen for approval.
We trialled our ideas with teachers to make sure that the resources would be valuable learning tools. Each resource comes with a full walkthrough guide, worksheets for each activity and links for further study. The resources are also easy to update, so the Parliament’s Education Service team can keep up with the latest comings and goings in government at a moment’s notice, making this a truly contemporary resource.
