In the fiercely competitive area of supply teaching, recruiters all seem to be making similar claims about their values and levels of service. Vision for Education (part of TES) stands out because its people – ethical, knowledgeable, honest – really do live the values of the brand.

We created a brand and suite of communications, beginning with the friendly, flowing and distinctive logo. The strapline recognises that education recruitment is a people business, and reflects Vision’s dedication to service:

Collateral is rooted in reality, with photography showing actual teachers and learners, taken at schools that work with Vision.

Sheffield Business School: a distinctive environment to showcase USPs

Sheffield Business School, one of four faculties within Sheffield Hallam University, is mainly based in a large office building in the city centre. We were asked to design a range of visual improvements to the reception, welcome space and public areas, as well as graphics for the external windows.

We developed a ‘customer journey’ to draw students and other visitors through the space, with illustrations, stats and statements that tell the story of the Business School, its achievements, impacts and partnerships. Thanks to the external vinyls, the building also has more presence at street level as part of central Sheffield’s ‘Hallam Quarter’.

Sheffield Institute of Education: an inclusive academic brand

Sheffield Hallam University brought together two academic departments and two research centres to create Sheffield Institute of Education. The Institute delivers all the University’s education-related activity, encompassing teacher training and professional development, education studies and a broad range of research.

We created a ‘manifesto’ to introduce the Institute, structured around five ‘brand statements’ that expressed the breadth of its activities and impacts. By ensuring that each of the departments could ‘own’ at least one of the statements, we also respected what was unique about them. Each brand statement was complimented by a substantial case study which showed the Institute living out its values.

127 locations and 460,000 Facebook views: Lifesaving Gifts video for RNLI

The RNLI wanted us to develop a video to appeal to young adults and twentysomethings.

We were keen to show the RNLI’s community of everyday people doing extraordinary things to save lives at sea – every day, without pay.

We filmed right round Britain’s coastline, using a variety of lifeboat stations and persuading over 40 lifeboat crew, lifeguards and volunteers to take part.
