We’re at home online, with a love of technology that grabs the attention and, more importantly, rewards that attention with something useful, exciting or delightful.

Guided by data and user experience, we develop technology that doesn’t just make life easier but really makes a difference – for organisations, people and sometimes animals!

Who, what, when & where: planning your comms for maximum impact

KPMG asked us to help their leadership team get a clearer picture of comms activity across the organisation. They needed a solution that would help schedule internal and external comms to maximise impact and avoid competing or clashing messages.

We developed an online scheduling app that allows users to create, edit, approve and compare projects, campaigns, launches and organisation-wide communications. It’s kept up to date by KPMG comms teams, who log on securely using their existing intranet credentials.

The planner is now available as a standalone product, VantagePoint – developed to help large organisations develop strategy, coordinate their messaging and communicate effectively at corporate level.

The Story Engine: inspiring young storytellers

The Story Engine is an inspirational writing space where young people can write and publish stories, and get one-to-one help from trained and vetted writing mentors.

We developed the platform in partnership with the Ministry of Stories and UCL Institute of Education. It’s designed to help young writers – from 11 years up – with creative writing, independent learning and literacy, and to evaluate how they can benefit from remote support.

We are currently running an expanded trial to allow more schools to try out the platform. Staff from Penguin Random House have kindly offered their time to act as mentors during this phase.

Redwings horse sanctuary: taking real-world success online

The largest horse sanctuary in the UK, Redwings cares for over 2,000 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules across five sites. They asked us how they could replicate their success digitally, to streamline their fundraising efforts and give supporters a better online experience.

We began by redeveloping their website to better reflect Redwings’ current strategy, and prepare for where they wanted to be. This meant a stronger emphasis on adoptions and fundraising, backed up by a new online shop with stock-control integration.

We are now designing new and exciting content for younger supporters, while working to make the whole Redwings offer consistent, channel-agnostic and satisfying for all visitors.

Speaker’s School Council Awards

The Speaker’s School Council Awards are run by Parliament’s Education Service and recognise the work of school councils across the UK. After providing initial digital consultancy and running an ideas workshop, we created a site to allow schools to register and submit their award entry online.

Over the last five years, many thousands of schools have submitted their entries, and we have added features such as the ability to create a public ‘showcase page’ for each submission. Since the latest update, Parliament’s Education Service are able to filter, shortlist and export submissions from a simple interface within Drupal.

Museums Sheffield: a new way to explore the steel city

Steelworks and cutlery mean a lot to the city of Sheffield, and Museums Sheffield were looking for a dynamic way to present their rich archive of cutlery manufacturing.

We created a map which allows users to explore the industrial landscape of Sheffield through the makers of the past, and the objects they made.

The historical map features a slider to meet with the present day – giving context to what the city looked like in the 1800s and 1930s compared to now – an interactive element which resonates with those who love the city.
